ALTERNATE SIDE PARKING ORDINANCE
ADOPTED IN THE CITY OF FOUNTAIN CITY
Upon the occurrence of a snow event as designated by the Mayor, City Council and/or Public Works Supervisor, alternate side parking regulations will be in effect on all streets from November 1 at 12:01 a.m. until March 31.
Such regulations shall apply as follows:
- On odd-numbered days, vehicles shall only be parked, stopped or left standing on that side of the street having odd-numbered addresses.
- On even-numbered days, vehicles shall only be parked, stopped or left standing on that side of the street having even-numbered addresses.
- Vehicles must be on a specific side of the street between 12:01 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day during a snow event.
- These provisions shall not affect any other temporary parking or related regulation that may also be in effect.
Violations of this ordinance will result in the issuance of a $25 citation and towing. No warnings will be given. The police department and/or public works department will issue citations. A driver’s license and proof of payment of citation are required in order to have a vehicle released. All fees for towing and storage are paid to the towing company.

SNOW EVENT POLICY
CITY OF FOUNTAIN CITY
FOUNTAIN CITY, WISCONSIN
Snowfall can affect business in the community, hinder emergency operations, and place pedestrians and motorists in harm’s way. Therefore, snow removal is considered an important activity that requires careful planning and prompt action.
The Common Council of the City of Fountain City hereby declares that a “snow event” exists in the City of Fountain City whenever any snowfall occurs during any period of twenty-four (24) hours or less as reported and/or predicted by the National Weather Service.
Whenever a “snow event” exists, the city’s Alternate Side Parking Ordinance is in effect.
