Help Spread the Word: County Alert System Update
Buffalo County is transitioning to a new emergency alert system for important notifications such as severe weather, tornado warnings, and flash flood alerts.
What’s Changing?
The County will be discontinuing the NIXLE alert system in late July. While REGROUP is already active and in use, alerts will only be sent through REGROUP once NIXLE is shut down.
What You Need to Do
If you currently receive alerts through NIXLE, you will need to sign up for REGROUP to continue receiving important emergency notifications. Unfortunately, existing contact information cannot be transferred, so all users must register again.
Help Us Spread the Word
We are asking for your help to share this information throughout the community. Please consider posting the attached flyer in high-traffic areas such as:
- Town halls
- Local businesses and bars
- Boat landings
- Gas stations
- Community bulletin boards
