A Quiet Zone has been established at the Mill Street railroad crossing effective April 1, 2024. This means that trains will no longer be blowing its horn as it approaches the Mill Street Crossing. Street channelization and signage has been put in place as part of the requirements of establishing a quiet zone. The railroad has communicated that horns may continue to sound sporadically for a month or so as communications continue within the organization. Trains also continue to reserve the right to sound horns in emergencies or if tracks are perceived to be obstructed in any way.
